I Posted a new Hubpage: A Medley of Romantic Ideas

No one person is identical and the same is true for relationships. Two individuals with distinct tastes, preferences and ideas make up a couple and it can make finding romantic gift ideas a bit challenging. One gift idea that works for one couple might not work for another! You might just need a bunch of different romantic gift ideas to get your creative juices flowing.

My Valentines Day Sybaris Getaway

January 30th, 2009

Guys, I know many of you are cringing at the thought of having to deal with Valentines Day. What are you going to buy? Where are you going to take her? What are you going to get out of it? ;)

The key is to make sure you do something the both of you will enjoy and benefit from! Seriously.. it’s about her, but it’s also about you. Or vice versa if you are a woman reading this. :D

And the more you put into the day, the more you’ll get out. I truly believe that’s true. Do something out of the ordinary.

Here’s my plan:

We’re going for an afternoon at the Sybaris which will be followed up with a nice Dinner afterwards and some evening festivities.. watching a movie or whatever.

I’m really, really looking forward to it! We’ll be sparking some romance!

Hope Your Valentines is Romantic and Fun!

*Joe Taylor’s Gift Ideas* is Now Open!

January 23rd, 2009

It’s official! I have opened up Joe’s Gift Ideas Shop and Review Area.

I came up with this idea because this is a site about relationships, love, romance.. everything to do with you and those around you. And one of the ways we connect with others and show how much we care (not just on holidays by the way) is through giving.

There are many different types of gifts you can give. Some are practical, some simple and others homemade.. but the bottom line is, for every relationship, they are almost a necessity. In fact, even before my wife, I don’t remember meeting one women who didn’t appreciate a gift. :D

Here’s the Gift Ideas shop: Joe’s Gift Ideas Shop

What’s exciting about it and unique is that you can actually contribute yourself! You can add comments, questions.. or even rank each gift; it uses a Star Ranking System. My goal is over time that this will become a tremendous resource when the days come you need to purchase that gift.

I’m not selling the actual gifts here.. its’ a review site and I’ll be recommending where you can get these gifts; or if you have a better source, just let us know! My goal is to serve as a 3rd party to help guide those of you to the right gift for your situation and special someone.

I hope you find it helpful!

What Did You Do for Sweetest Day?

October 19th, 2008

I know some people don’t celebrate.. or fight it. It just seems like another Hallmark holiday – made up to make some businesses more money. But I don’t care personally. It’s just another opportunity for me to show my lovely wife how much she means to me and to spend some quality time.

My wife’s sister and husband even made a pact that they weren’t going to do anything for Sweetest Day. They would give each other cards and THAT was it. Well, that didn’t last. I heard he ended up getting her something.. and she didn’t get him anything.

Now she’s plotting that she’s going to have to give him something for Holloween. It’s funny how we always need to try and make things even.

I actually had a great time. It just so happened that my wife’s birthday landed on the same day. I had double husband duty. I got her a present for her birthday that she wanted and for Sweetest Day..

..I got a gift certificate to the Sybaris. We’re going to sneak away for a daytime get away. I’ve actually done this before as the gift and surprise itself. But I thought it would be nice to just do it this way.. I was taking her out to dinner for Sweetest Day otherwise. Which we did.. and had a nice romantic evening.

I told her we needed more romance.. Sybaris is great because you slip into a wonderful, secluded, private getaway and it’s just you and her.. or you and him. No distractions.. pure focus on the other.

We do plan on doing this during the day though. If you go at night, don’t expect to sleep. The rooms aren’t exactly cheap. So wasting the money by sleeping doesn’t make sense. No sleep, lots of romance. :)

What did you end up doing for the one you love? Did you shower them with gifts, night out on the town.. did you have a private getaway night? Please comment below.

Hope You Had Fun!
