Mobile Dating with the iPhone & Match.com

March 23rd, 2009

I just ran across this article at the Washington Post called, Find Love On Your iPhone With Match.com! This is GREAT news for those of you looking for the love of your life.

I have Apple’s iPhone and I can tell you it’s an incredible device! Truly.. the reason I got it is because I liked the Internet Browser. I run my Internet Business full-time and with the iPhone I’m able to manage things remotely away from my office.

Well, after getting the device, I’ve been floored by the other applications I’ve taken advantage of! It’s no wonder they blew by their goal and sold 13.7 million iPhones in 2008! Since the App Store opened last year there have been over 25,000 applications created for the iPhone.

And it doesn’t surprise me at all that dating sites will take advantage of this awesome platform to help their users connect with their love interests on the go. It’s almost the perfect match; especially for those with a busy schedule and that don’t want to miss the important connection.

At Isn’t that incredible!? And now all these people will have the ability to connect on the go.

I think this is only the beginning. Why would someone want to be tied to their computer searching for their love or communicating with them? Why not be able to hang out with friends, sit at the bar or travel elsewhere and have all your potential mates right at your fingertips.

I know I would love that.. if I was still single. ;)

Looking to Meet Someone Over the Holidays?

December 9th, 2008

Some of you may be relieved your single around the holidays. :D

But for those of you that aren’t looking forward to being alone.. and lonely during this time of the year, what can you do? Certainly finding a date or getting to know someone can get your mind off of ‘feeling sorry for yourself’ and down.

What would Joe advise?

Well, #1.. I’d get the word out. Call your friends and family; you don’t have to make it immediately obvious why you are calling. But bring up the fact that you are looking to meet someone. If you don’t let people know you are in the market or interested, how are they going to know to help you?

Maybe someone knows someone that is looking too! ;)

Find ways to attend holiday functions. Are there any parties going on around town? Are their clubs or bars having parties? Are any of your friends having parties?.. you know, just because you are single that doesn’t mean you can’t do stuff and go out!

The main thing is to take action. Get on the phone, connect with others and see if you can spark something.

Ahhh.. this is the day of the Internet isn’t it. And e-mail.. who can you contact that way?

Would you be interested in trying online dating? Try places like eharmony.com
and find local guys or gals to hook up with.

Really, the only thing stopping you is you.

Before I met my wife I didn’t go long between dates or girlfriends. I was out there right away seeking out that next date and looking for a new smile to embrace. ;)

Go for it! And have a happier holiday as a result!

IntelligentPeople.com – You Think You’re Smart?

April 25th, 2008

..oh, you KNOW you’re smart!! :D

Check Out: IntelligentPeople.com

You want to hang out with the top 15% of smart people out there… date them? Start a love affair with them? Marry them?

I’m quite sure there are some flaws here.. For one, are you sure you want to meet someone that’s REALLY smart? MUCH Smarter then you! I’m married to a 4.0+ college grad… some days I think she’s maybe too smart. I’m quite sure I wouldn’t survive if I didn’t have some smarts myself. (I am the guy that has an answer for everything – my Mom always told me that.. and so does my wife)

All joking aside, I understand that intelligence can be a factor when choosing your mate. And you do have to take an IQ test to join this site  .

What do you think about this concept?

Is this a good idea?

Is it flawed to focus on one attribute? To start with one attribute?

Should we also have FunnyPeople.com? AthleticPeople.com? Could be the beginning’s of a new niche trend! Start with one focus and build on that.
