IntelligentPeople.com - You Think You’re Smart?

April 25th, 2008 · 2 Comments

..oh, you KNOW you’re smart!! :D

Check Out: IntelligentPeople.com

You want to hang out with the top 15% of smart people out there… date them? Start a love affair with them? Marry them?

I’m quite sure there are some flaws here.. For one, are you sure you want to meet someone that’s REALLY smart? MUCH Smarter then you! I’m married to a 4.0+ college grad… some days I think she’s maybe too smart. I’m quite sure I wouldn’t survive if I didn’t have some smarts myself. (I am the guy that has an answer for everything - my Mom always told me that.. and so does my wife)

All joking aside, I understand that intelligence can be a factor when choosing your mate. And you do have to take an IQ test to join this site  .

What do you think about this concept?

Is this a good idea?

Is it flawed to focus on one attribute? To start with one attribute?

Should we also have FunnyPeople.com? AthleticPeople.com? Could be the beginning’s of a new niche trend! Start with one focus and build on that.

    Joe,
it’s a good idea as long as you can have a smarter person around you and live with it. 99% of people would rather not and I perfectly understand why - because in 99% of the cases the smarter one will patronize his or her partner. I know I do it too with my not so bright, but oh-so-hot girlfriend. She’s fine with it because she thinks that’s what men should do, but other girls wouldn’t give me the time of the day if I would do to them one tenth of what I do with my baby.

I think its a bit silly, there is more to making a great relationship then how “smart” you are. The IQ test is a very one sided test which tests your ability to recognize patterns. So if you really want some one who is super smart, just go to your local university and hit on grad students.

Thats a far more reliable method of someone’s intelligence (and ability to use it) then some test that is almost no longer used as a serious singular measure of one’s intelligence.
